The Legend of Chinese New Year’s Monster Nian
An historic Chinese legend tells of a guy-consuming predatory beast often called Nian, highly fierce, with a long head and sharp horn. Nian dwelled deep inside the sea the whole 12 months long, but on each and every Chinese New Year’s Eve it could climb onto the shore to eat farm animals and harm humans in a close to-via village.
